Refund Policy

Quick summary: Full refund within 7 days if you have not used the additional storage quota you purchased. Partial or denied refunds after 7 days or if storage has been used. We honor mandatory consumer-protection rights in your jurisdiction where they are stronger than our default policy.

1. Scope

This policy applies to one-time purchases made through PayPal on shooff.my or from within the shooff application ("Purchase"). The free tier is not a paid product and does not give rise to any refund entitlement.

2. Statutory cooling-off rights

2.1 Republic of Korea — Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce

You may withdraw your Purchase within seven (7) days of payment provided that you have not used any portion of the additional storage quota you purchased (the digital content). Once any quota has been consumed (for example, by saving a file that would not have fit in the free tier), the statutory withdrawal right no longer applies, consistent with Article 17(2)(v) of the Act.

2.2 European Union / United Kingdom — Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU (UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013)

EU and UK consumers have a 14-day right of withdrawal. By completing a purchase, you acknowledge that the digital content (additional storage quota) is supplied immediately, and you request immediate supply. Consistent with Article 16(m) of the Directive and Regulation 37(1)(a) of the UK Regulations, the right of withdrawal is lost once you begin consuming the additional quota. If you have not consumed any portion of the extra quota, you may request a full refund within 14 days of payment.

2.3 Other jurisdictions

We will honor any mandatory consumer-protection right that applies to you under the law of your country of residence, to the extent it is more favorable than the terms above.

"Storage used from Purchase" means the number of files in your library that exceed the free-tier limit of ten (10). If your library has not exceeded ten files, no Purchase quota has been used.

4. How to request a refund

  1. Email [email protected] from the email address associated with your PayPal payment.
  2. Include:
    • PayPal order ID (17 characters, shown in your PayPal receipt)
    • License key (starts with SHFF-, shown in Settings → Storage)
    • Brief reason for the refund
  3. We review within 3 business days and reply with a decision.
  4. Approved refunds are issued to the original PayPal account, typically arriving within 5–10 business days.
  5. Your storage quota is automatically reduced by the refunded amount when the refund is processed.
Important — quota reduction on refund: When a refund is processed, your storage quota decreases by the refunded amount. If your library contains more files than the reduced quota allows, you will not lose the files, but playback and viewing of the over-quota files will be blocked until you either delete excess files or purchase additional storage.

6. Chargebacks

We encourage you to contact us first rather than initiate a chargeback with PayPal or your card issuer. A chargeback initiated without a prior support ticket will result in the immediate revocation of your license key. We reserve the right to dispute chargebacks where we have evidence that the purchase was legitimate and used.

7. Refunds for faulty service

If the service is materially broken (for example, your purchase failed to increase your quota, or the app cannot contact our server for more than 72 hours continuously), contact us for a full refund regardless of the time elapsed.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in the service or the law. Material changes will be announced on shooff.my with at least 14 days' notice.
